Our Recruitment Process
Our Trust is committed to safeguarding children and young people and we expect all staff to share this commitment. Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a Criminal Record Declaration Form prior to interview. All successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
When recruiting and selecting staff, the Trust is required to comply with all relevant employment legislation to ensure we are recruiting within the law as well as complying with the Trust’s Equality Policy.
Applicants will be assessed using the Person Specification attached to any vacancy. This specification will be used throughout the recruitment process as an objective test of assessing candidates at shortlisting, test and interview stages. Our interviews will always include relevant questions relating to child protection and/or safeguarding and will usually involve a child centred task.
The Trust has a suite of safeguarding procedures, policies and guidance for all of our staff and volunteers to ensure we actively promote children and young people’s welfare and safety.
We are committed to keeping our children safe, and therefore successful candidates will not be able to start in post without a satisfactory enhanced DBS, Health Check and references.
